| Bio: | From loneliness to tenderness, those two are endlessly consuming each other. They fight, of course they fight, words like swords and fists like knives, kisses, bruises, endless, endless. They can hear voices, both of them, voices that they blame on the other (although secretly they blame themselves, each alone, for the madness). They are tied by a desperate kind of love, tied by a desperate kind of longing that causes them to scratch and bite each other bloody under the guise of hot sex. Of course it's fantastic. They believe themselves to be without inhibitions, bawling out their dirty laundry across the balconies. The making over was swift and deliberate. Discarding their old skins to merge, a snake endlessly swallowing its tail. You'd never get either of them to admit it, though, despite all of the times they've tried to break it up and break it off, a lucid awareness of the toxicity of the relationship, of their love, they can never stay away. They tell their friends it's the best sex they've ever had, and that's all it is, but in three years they'll be married, and in six years she'll be dead. So, call me Ava. Or, if you are friendly, call me darling! I am a keeper of minutiae and ideas. I'm still watching the future become the past, here, and the minutes stretch and compress like funhouse time, and sometimes I'm not sure if I should be screaming or laughing. Even sadder, I have nothing to show for my vigilance but an over-gnawed heart and a head too tired to sleep! We all know well enough now that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises. If something you've made is in pieces at your feet, you learn to make mosaics - you don't stop making things. You shouldn't! I don't live in the right world for telling stories in real time anymore but some of you can see, some of you can see what I see, great swathes of colour painted across the sky in this haphazard folding and unfolding and refolding of the same twenty-six characters. We'll find those words again one day, my dear. I've been accused of being a humourless intellectual snob, but that's a damn lie. I'm not humourless.  FWIW. | |
